As so many students have large school loans, they need to be concerned about the employers and jobs that will be available to them when they graduate student. Of course, that does not indicate that the students who are certainly not burdened with lending options are certainly not also concerned with landing good jobs. How can college or university leaders identify and understand the changes that will both cause better student employment success and make things better for themselves? Money, manpower and time are issues that are always brought up. Nevertheless , the main factors are “wanting to make things better” and “looking for and identifying the things that contain to be altered. ” Colleges that aren’t or won’t do one or both of those ideas will never increase the job success of their students.
To improve student job success, colleges must:
you. Recognize that students can be limited in their understanding of job search preparation activities and what, how, when and why they should be done.
2. Acknowledge the fact that the college or university (a learning institution) is where students spend almost all of their some where they expect to obtain the data, help and assistance they are going to need for their employment search.
3. Acknowledge that job search planning instruction and guidance is in large part the responsibility of the school as a whole, not simply students and the people in Career Services.
4. Understand that students must compete against other prospects for the best careers in their fields of interest. Simply having gained a degree with good grades is often not enough.
5. Believe that their college or university will gain when larger amounts of students land desirable careers with respected employers.
To assist Students Find Greater Career Success, Colleges Should:
